QUEER+ BIKES SEEDS & CYCLE RIDE

  • Fort Collins City Hall (Xeriscape Garden) 300 Laporte Avenue Fort Collins, Colorado, 80521 United States (map)

Limited to 20 participants, please RSVP here (or add yourself to the waitlist!)

It's Queer+ Bikes’ THIRD annual Seeds & Cycle event! Dip out of work a little early and join us from 4:30-7:30pm (BRING YOUR BIKE LIGHTS) for a native seed collecting and cycling event! Our partners from Wildlands Restoration Volunteers & The City of FC Nature in the City program will help satiate your nerdy plant heart by teaching us about the history of the two gardens we visit and teach us how to identify some of the native plants on site! We will then collect native seeds for a future seed swap event put on by the City.

We will meet at the Xeriscape garden at Fort Collins City Hall (300 Laporte St) and possibly collect there and then ride over to Lee Martinez Park Xeriscape Garden (this is a NEW garden). Our last stop will be to Sugar Beet Park to watch the sunset and collect more seeds. We will ride back to City Hall together or participants are welcome to ride out on their own. This route is about 5 miles. Please make sure to bring (and charge) your lights.

What is Queer+ Bikes? It’s the community group started by the Joyride founders, Lauren and B, in September 2022. Queer+ Bikes is a LGBTQ-centered cycling and community group welcoming all bodies, genders, and experiences. We reduce barriers to cycling through our free gear closet, partner events, and monthly group social & rides (usually multi-surface, to include bike paths, pavement, and gravel). We value creating community just as much as we love riding bikes. Allies welcome!
